The City of El Paso enacted the Automated Red Light Camera Enforcement Program to reduce the number of traffic accidents on our city streets. What You Need to Know
If a red light camera catches you, these are a few things you need to know:
- Payments made online for your red light camera violation cannot be made at the Municipal Court. Payments are to be made through REDFLEX.
- You can make your payment in person with a money order, check, or credit/debit card. You can also make your payment online with a credit/debit card, but you will have to pay a “transaction fee” of $2.95.
- The fine is $75
- The ticket does not go on your driving record; it is a civil penalty again the OWNER of the vehicle, not the driver.
- If the $75 is not paid, the owner’s name is turned over to a collection agency and/or the Texas DOT, which may result in the inability to register the vehicle in the future.
Check Your Tire Pressure Regularly
We often notice that people don’t always check the pressure of their tires, to their own grief. After all, you’re going down the highway at 65 to 70 miles per hour, don’t you want to make sure that those small pieces of rubber that connect you to the road are in perfect condition?
