Planning your Date Night, A day blank day planner with a blue pen

If you’re looking for the perfect date night, why not watch a live performance. El Paso has many musical events taking place in the month of October to suit everyone’s tastes. Check out one of these live performances in El Paso this October.

Big Brothers Big Sisters: Dance for Kids’ Sake

October 10

Plaza Theater

This performance features El Paso native Mayo Alanen, who is a professional ballroom choreographer and performer based in NYC and has been featured on “Dancing with the Stars”. Dance for Kids’ Sake is the 8th annual local spin on “Dancing with the Stars”, where locals become the dancers and judges to raise money and awareness for Big Brothers Big Sisters programs. All proceeds stay in El Paso and help support and create matches of mentors for the over 100 children on the waiting list for Big Brother Big Sisters. This program is important because the mentors keep children in school, away from gangs, off drugs and help them deal with real issues like bullying, depression and low self esteem.

El Paso Symphony Orchestra Presents Akyal

October 23

Plaza Theater

In 1959, Ferit Tuzun became conductor of the Ankara State Opera after his early training in Turkey and four years of study in Munich. His compositions illustrate the influence of Richard Strauss and Paul Hindemith and they include piano music, opera, orchestral works and chamber music. Akyal will show how his work as a conductor brings to his music the capability to use the orchestra skillfully. Akyal translates to “conversations”, and the individual sections of the orchestra appear to be conversing with each other throughout the performance.

Make El Paso the place to watch a live performance this October!

fall-leaves-300x225Get out of the city and head up the mountains. We may be in Texas, but we still get to experience all the fun and colors fall has to offer. If you stay in state, head up North, or take a leaf-peeping tour out of state, you need a spacious AWD vehicle for the ride.

2016 Kia Sorento

There are many things we love about the reliable and durable Kia Sorento. It is loaded with the creature comforts you desire, the capable all-wheel-drive drivetrain you crave, and the safety you expect. In 2015, the IIHS awarded the 2016 Kia Sorento with a 2015 Top Safety Pick Award. The Kia Sorento is the ideal ride for your leaf-peeping adventure and every other adventure you seek. Under the hood are a few options: 2.4-liter inline-4 that produces 185 hp; a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that produces 240 hp; and a 3.3-liter V6 that creates 290 hp. The Kia Sorento has third-row seating, UVO eServices, roof rails, rearview camera, and a cargo area that provides up to 38 cubic feet of cargo accommodations.

2015 Kia Sportage

The 2015 Kia Sportage earned good ratings in four out of five tests conducted by the IIHS. The Kia Sportage LX has a price set at $25,300 after the $1,000 rebate. To help you drive further, Kia equipped the Sportage with a 2.4-liter inline-4 engine with an automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive drivetrain. The horsepower rating is 182 hp with 177 lb.-ft. of torque. The estimated fuel economy rating is 19/26 mpg. Kia equipped the Sportage LX with a 6-speaker stereo system, climate controls, easy-to-clean cloth upholstery, CD player, and satellite radio.

A few decades ago, a vehicle with 100,000 miles was ready for the scrap yard and was well past its useful life. Today, the average life spans of cars are increasing, thanks to improvements in equipment and parts technologies. It is not uncommon, or unheard of, to get 200,000 or even 300,000 miles out of a vehicle before it is replaced. For those people who purchase cars form El Paso car lots, this means they are able to keep their cars even longer.

With the increase in vehicle life spans, it is essential to properly care for the vehicle by washing, waxing, and detailing it on a regular basis, to ensure that the car’s interior and exterior last just as long as the engine and transmission. Investing the time to protect your vehicle and maintain its appearance has its rewards later, with a higher trade-in value, when you are ready to trade in your car for a new vehicle at your Kia dealer or other dealership.

  1. Perform all detailing work in the shade. Direct sunlight leaves soap and water streaks and spots on the car’s finish. Plus, the shade helps keep you cooler while vacuuming and cleaning the car’s interior.
  2. Clean and vacuum the interior. Use a UV protectant to dust the dashboard, doors, and leather seats first, and then vacuum.
  3. Use approved materials for washing, drying, and waxing the car. There are special soft towels that will not scratch the finish on the vehicle.
  4. Only use products designed for your car. Never use dish soap, laundry detergent, or other common household cleaning products. The only exception is glass cleaner. From car wash soaps to leather protectants, there are numerous products designed for the harsh conditions vehicles are exposed to year round to help protect their exteriors and interiors.
  5. Always wet the vehicle down before washing. Take the time to wet down the vehicle to loosen dust, bugs, and other debris before washing it.
  6. Wash from the bottom of the vehicle upwards. Start with the tires and wheel wells, and wash these first. It is okay to wash one tire, and rinse it before moving on to the next. After you are done with the tires, wet down the car a second time if the water has evaporated.
  7. Use a soft bristle toothbrush. This helps remove dirt, bugs, and debris from small cracks and crevices.
  8. Dry the vehicle off before waxing. The car needs to be completely dry before applying most wax products.
  9. Be careful to not wax plastic parts. Many exterior pieces may look like they are metal, like bumpers, and, unless the wax specifically says it is safe for plastic, you should avoid getting wax onto plastic parts.
  10. Clean windows. Do this last.
  11. Use a carpet shampooer. Use this to clean the carpeting and upholstery in the vehicle at least once a year.

By taking the time to wash, wax, and detail your car on a regular basis, you maintain its appearance, and you are able to get a better trade-in value, once you get ready for your next new car. Feel free to use Integrity Kia’s professional car detailing service if you find yourself too busy to do the work yourself. Stop by or phone 915-856-2982 today to learn more.

Car Maintenance

integrity 15 cadenzaWhen you see the Kia Cadenza on the lot, you will know you are in the presence of something great. The Kia Cadenza was a finalist for the 2015 Best Large Car for Families Award from US News and World Report, and Kelley Blue Book said the Cadenza is a “compelling choice.” To make it better, we recently slashed the price by more than $3,000.

Performance and Pricing

The 2015 Kia Cadenza uses its 3.3-liter V6 to create 293 hp and 255 lb.-ft. of torque. The Cadenza has a front-wheel-drive drivetrain and an automatic transmission. The estimated fuel economy rating for the Cadenza is 19/28 mpg.

Interior Comforts

The 5-passenger Cadenza is loaded with comfort amenities. Kia designed the Cadenza with leather seating, adjustable front seats, dual-zone climate controls, a micro-filter ventilation system, wood trim, passenger ventilation controls, navigation, sunroof, and leather upholstery. Every ride is better with leather.

The entertainment system in the Cadenza is composed of 12 Infinity® speakers, CD player, satellite radio, color touchscreen display, AM/FM radio, subwoofer, and surround sound.

Superior Safety

There are specific terms and conditions to car leases which normally do not allow you to make any modifications to the vehicle. You are required to return the vehicle with its original equipment and in the condition it was originally leased from El Paso car dealerships. Otherwise, you are charged excessive penalties and fees for making modifications. However, there are several temporary modifications you can make, so long as you remove them before returning the vehicle at the end of the lease.

  • Vinyl Wrap: Vinyl allows you to safely modify the exterior of the vehicle, such as adding graphics, secondary colors, or changing the color of full sections of the vehicle. Vinyl does not harm the paint and is removable at the end of the lease.
  • Windowing Tinting: Certain types of window tinting are removable. Just make sure to check the local laws in your area regarding which windows may be tinted and the darkness of the tint.
  • Upgraded Tires: You can upgrade the tires to different ones from the ones that originally came on the vehicle. If the original tires are not worn out and do not need to be replaced, you will want to keep the original ones and put them back on the vehicle before returning it at the end of the lease.
  • Upgraded Wheels: You can change out the wheels for fancier or sportier wheels than came on the vehicle. It is important to keep the original wheels so you have them when you return the car.
  • Carbon Fiber/Chrome Parts: You can swap out parts with carbon fiber and chrome parts to give the vehicle a more stylish look. Again, keep the original parts, as you will need them later.
  • Plastic Dip: This is a special rubberized coating you can apply to various areas of the car to change the color of various components. It is easy to peel off the rubber coating when you want to remove it and return the vehicle.
  • Electronic Components: It is okay to swap out stereo systems and other electronic components with different ones. You have to be careful when working with electrical systems to not damage the vehicle or the components you remove. Store the removed components, since you need to reinstall them at the end of the lease.

It is recommended that you have a professional perform any of the modifications you want to make, to prevent causing damage to the vehicle, its systems, or the parts and components you swap out. Prior to returning the vehicle at the end of your lease, you have to remove all temporary modifications and reinstall any original equipment you replaced. Even if you intend to purchase the vehicle, it still has to be returned with the original equipment. For more information about car leases, feel free to visit or call Integrity Kia at 915-856-2982.

Add-ons are extras offered to people purchasing new and used vehicles from dealerships in El Paso. Some people say it is not worth the extra money to purchase add-ons, while others prefer the protection they provide. In the end, it is entirely up to you to decide whether you want to purchase add-ons, and which ones you want. Take the time to review the following list of add-ons to learn what they are and how they are beneficial:

  • Extended Warranties: Extended warranties provide protection for your new or used vehicle after the original manufacturer’s warranty expires. If the original manufacturer’s warranty is not going to end before you pay off the car, then you may not want to purchase extended coverage. However, if the original warranty is going to end before the car if paid off, it is recommended to purchase extended coverage until the end of your loan. This way, if anything major goes wrong, you are not hit with an expensive repair bill and still have to worry about making your car payment.
  • Prepaid Service Agreements: Prepaying for certain services can save you money in the long run. These types of agreements cover oil changes, tire rotations, brake pad replacements, and other repairs not covered under warranties. When you purchase a prepaid service agreement, you normally get a discount and are paying today’s prices. If the costs of oil, brakes, or other parts or labor goes up, you do not have to worry, since you already prepaid your services.
  • GAP and Life Insurance: GAP insurance covers the difference between what your insurance company pays and what is owed on your loan in the event the car is totaled. If you put down a large down payment, or if the vehicle does not depreciate quickly, then you do not need GAP insurance. Life insurance pays off the loan in the event you pass away unexpectedly. It is important to read exactly what accidental deaths are covered to decide whether you really need the coverage.

All add-ons can be included into your car financing program at the time of purchase, too. Depending upon which ones you select, your monthly payments are only an extra $5 to $20 each month. If you have a hard time setting aside money for repairs, or do not have an existing life insurance policy, it is beneficial to consider purchasing add-ons at the time of sale.

If you decide not to purchase any add-ons when purchasing El Paso cars for sale, you still have the option to buy certain ones later on. Keep in mind, you could be required to pay the full amount upfront for the add-on or, if payment options are offered, they are paid separately from your monthly car payment. For more information and details about add-ons available with a new or used car, feel free to visit Integrity Kia or call 915-856-2982.

If you have bad credit, it can make it challenging to obtain financing from car dealerships in El Paso, Texas. You might think your only option for purchasing a used car is to go to one of those “buy here pay here” dealers. The only problem with many of these dealerships is that they provide the financing and do not report your payment history to the major credit bureaus. As a result, your credit does not get rebuilt. Further, the vehicle selection you are presented with could be limited. Not to mention, the amount of your payments can be much higher than if you took the time to explore other options.

You also have to watch out for certain sales tactics used by less reputable El Paso used cars dealers. These dealers know you need a car and engage in shady practices to prey upon your credit situation. It is better to learn what these are and avoid them. The last thing you want to do is create more of a financial burden and possibly not be able to afford your new used car.

Never drive off with the used car until financing has been approved. Some dealers may insist everything is going to be fine, and tell you to go ahead and drive home with your new used vehicle. A short time later, you get a phone call saying you were not approved and have to return the vehicle. At this point, you are either stuck accepting financing with a much higher interest rate, or lose some or all of your down payment, since the dealer charges you for the time you had the vehicle in your position.

Never rely upon verbal promises and assurances. The goal of less reputable dealers is to sell the car by getting it financed anyway possible. They might ask you for a larger down payment or say you need a co-signer. They promise you are going to be primary on the loan, only for you to discover later that the loan is actually in the co-signer’s name. Take the time to request everything be put in writing, and read every term and condition on any contracts and sales agreements before you sign them.

Fortunately, “buy here pay here” dealers are not your only option for purchasing a used car with bad credit. There are several brand name car dealers in El Paso that feature special programs to assist people with bad credit. These programs are designed to help you rebuild your credit while providing you access to a high quality used vehicle. In addition, programs for brand name dealers are reported to the major credit bureaus, so, as long as you make your payments on time, your credit can improve.

Once your car is fully paid off, it makes it easier to obtain another car loan, as well as financing for other purposes, such as purchasing a home. For more information about programs to overcome credit problems, stop by today, or contact Integrity Kia at 915-856-2982.
